Environmental Sustainability
A healthy planet is key to a better future and our continued hope for families. At Albireo, we prioritize positive contributions for our communities, patients, families, and colleagues through sustainable actions. Our mission is a collective effort with our partners to manage and minimize the environmental footprint we contribute to society. This collaboration with selectively chosen supply manufacturing partners ensures we are working to protect the environment, prevent environmental pollution, comply with environmental, health, safety and security EHSS statutory requirements, and more.
As a responsible member of the global biopharma industry, we continue to look for ways to build sustainability into our company culture to limit the footprint internally and with global customers.
Our new Albireo headquarters is a LEED-EB Gold Certified high-performance building by Beacon that operates all of its properties in a resource-efficient manner. To date, Beacon has obtained LEED certification for over 56 million square feet of property.
In addition, our new hybrid working model as well as office recycling programs also support environmental sustainability. This includes our global offices taking part in single source garbage and recycling receptacles, paper recycling through shredding programs, as well as employees limiting emissions through a hybrid work model where employees are only commuting two days a week.

Access to Medicines, Affordability & Pricing
Our mission is to provide hope for families by delivering innovative and accessible solutions to tranform the lives of patients and their families living with rare cholestatic liver diseases. We succeed in our mission only if our products reach the patients who will benefit from them, so we prioritize patient access in everything we do.
For our first product Bylvay® (odevixibat), we determined the price based on its value and impact on patients, families and caregivers. As such, we are guided by the following principles:
- Improve patients lives and well-being.
- Work to remove insurance-related barriers that can hinder the patient's ability to undergo treatment.
- Prioritize access by providing individualized and customized financial assistance to eligible patients.
- Continue innovating to discover and develop treatments for cholestatic liver diseases.
In our commitment to ensuring that eligible patients can access ByIvay® (odevixibat) in a fully compliant manner, we will work within the relevant regulatory processes for each country to meet our ongoing commitment to patients and to support the PFIC community.
- For PFIC patients in the U.S., Albireo has built a customized and company-run patient services program called AlbireoAssist®. To learn more about the program, visit AlbireoAssist.com.
- For PFIC patients outside the U.S., access to Bylvay in certain countries is now available through our Managed Access Program. For PFIC patients in Germany, we also offer Albireo Assist Germany, a patient support program for patients and caregivers of children diagnosed with PFIC to accompany Bylvay and optimize outcomes.
- The Company also provides an Expanded Access Program (EAP) for eligible patients with PFIC in the U.S., England, Wales and Northern Ireland, Germany, Canada and Australia with many more to come in Europe.
